Chinook (King) Salmon provides a taste of Big Game Fishing for landlocked anglers. Kings are one of the hardest fighting fresh water fish and are known for making long runs. On our light tackle, you won't find a better fight in freshwater! Captain Dan built his reputation on his ability to find and big catch kings. We target them all season with peak action occurring July-September. Average 10-30 lbs.
Coho (Silver ) Salmon provide fast action and are caught in large numbers from mid-April to mid-June with action peaking in May. These tasty salmon average 2-4 lbs. during the Spring. Summer Coho run 6-12 lbs.
Steelhead (Rainbow) Trout will amaze you with their ferocious strikes and their leaping abilities. Silver bullets are caught throughout the season with peak action occurring during May and August. Steelies average 6-12 lbs. with trophies over 15 lbs possible.

Fishing Report
The kings are here! Fishing has been red hot on the Blue Horizon as large catches of big kings, steelhead and coho are filling the boat. Most trips are returning to the dock with limits, or near limits of big fish. The kings are running 8-20 lbs, and the steelies and coho are in the 5-14 lb. range. Large schools of fish can be found in a variety of areas. Watch the wind and currents. On some trips, best action is in 50-70 feet, on afternoon trips we are fishing in the 70-160 foot range.
Hot baits include aqua Howie flies behind white Hot Spot and Coyote flashers. These are set on riggers and dipses 30-50 feet down. Clean spoons on riggers and lead core are also strong. Hot spoons include the blue and green dolphin Super Slim and Silver Streaks (magnum evil alewife, green dolphin, triple green and reverse puke). Blue thunder Stingers are also good.
The fish are setting up so it should be an excellent summer!

Target Fish

Lake Trout are dependable targets from June - October. Lakers grow big with 18-24 lb. fish common. On light tackle, they are a worthy opponent. Average 8-15 lbs.
Brown Trout are one of the most beautiful fish in the Lake. Browns are not caught in large numbers but they do grow big. Peak action is August - October. Average 6-10 lbs. with 20 lbs. fish possible.
